Long before the invention of refrigerators, Koreans developed an excellent fermentation technique to cope with the safe storage of food. It made it possible to preserve and even improve the taste and health benefits of food for a very long time. The fermentation process was therefore also used to store traditional medicines and cosmetics used by women at the royal court.


The fermentation process creates - CYSTEINE - an amino acid that is an ideal ally in the treatment of oily skin, a natural skin moisturizer. It also helps to normalize the oil gland, has an antioxidant effect and speeds up the wound healing process!



Fermentation is a bioprocess that uses bacteria to release enzymes from active substances. It is an environmentally friendly method - it minimizes the consumption and production of harmful compounds, reduces the use of energy necessary during production, and is based on renewable raw materials. In addition, the bacteria produced in the process help maintain the durability of cosmetics, reducing the need for the use of preservatives.


The main benefits of fermentation for your skin:

  1. The bioprocess creates new skin-beneficial substances and increases the density of nutrients. Amino acids stimulating the production of collagen, vitamins, organic acids and antioxidants preventing premature aging of the skin are formed. Most of the fermented ingredients are acidic, which promotes gentle exfoliation, while fermented sugars and fruit acids help to moisturize and nourish the skin, and also strengthen its protective barrier. One of the naturally produced substances are AHA acids, which help to remove dead skin cells, thus releasing the hidden glow of healthy skin.

  2. Facilitates the absorption of active ingredients contained in cosmetics. The size of molecules of active substances can be too large, but thanks to fermentation they are broken down into smaller and better digestible "portions".

  3. It neutralizes substances that could potentially be irritating. Some natural ingredients can be irritating due to their strong properties as well as toxins (especially in the case of sensitive skin). Additionally, fermented raw materials mimic the way cells function, making adverse reactions extremely rare.

The idea of fermenting cosmetic ingredients originating in Korea is basically fermenting natural ingredients such as, for example, black tea, ginseng, seaweed, bamboo juice extract, red carnation flower, hibiscus, snow lotus and various herbs, flowers and many other. You don't have to look far to find cosmetics containing naturally fermented plants.


Pomegranate fermentation extract, or Lactobacillus / Punica Granatum Fruit Ferment Extract, is a source of valuable substances with high antioxidant capacity! Hydrolysed tannins, anthocyanins or ellagic acid derivatives are just some of the antioxidant compounds found in the juice of this fruit. Through the fermentation process, pomegranate extract becomes a brilliant activator of skin cell regeneration! It has natural compounds that protect against free radicals. The "Root of Life", as ginseng is called, shows even greater beneficial effects for the skin after the fermentation process! Fermented rice water, or Saccharomyces / Rice Ferment Filtrate, is rich in vitamins B & E. Thanks to the inositol content, it stabilizes the pH of the skin, retains moisture in it, increases elasticity, tightens pores, and supports the treatment of seborrhea.
